To All BCSC Members:
Summer 5-Stand League begins Thursday, 5/14/26, and will run for 14 weeks. Please note, this is a change to the previously communicated start date of 5/7/26.
We are coming off of our first Winter Heated 5-Stand league, which was a success; and our hope is that we continue that momentum into the Summer.
League Format:
Start date: Thurs 5/14/26, runs for 14 weeks
Teams: 5 shooters per team, max of 7 on a team roster. All substitute shooters must be on team rosters and shoot 2 scores to establish an average by Week 7 of the league. Roster additions after Week 7 not permitted.
Schedule: We are changing the scheduling process and will use a Google Drive document (link below) for teams to select a time to shoot as a squad. We also would like to use this as a way for team captains to confirm their availability to support their own and other squads’ needs for scoring & pulling. We ask that team captains add their names and contact info to the file to make communication easier.
Along with this, we have opted to open up the shooting schedule to allow teams to shoot at times that are convenient for them. This means that if a squad wants to shoot on Tuesday mornings, they are able to do so, provided all scores for that week are shot together. The intent in making this change to try to provide more flexibility for squads to get their rounds in.
All squads are allotted 30 mins to shoot their round, and we are asking that shooting begin on-time. We no longer have the 10-minute grace period. This is based on our experience with the Winter league, as most squads did not require the full 45 minute time slot–it also allows us to make more times available each day.
Shoot Ahead/Make-Up Scores: We ask that squads needing to shoot a make-up score do so within a week of missing their score. Squads are permitted to shoot ahead provided they find/schedule available times to shoot together. If you will need more than 1 week to make up a score, please notify the league manager.
Score Reporting: Joe will only be at the club on Thursday evenings. Given that shoot times are essentially wide open, we are working on a drop box for scores. More information to follow when that is available. Another option Joe is experimenting with is for captains to send photos of the completed score sheet texted to him, if you are shooting on a day other than Thursday.
LongRange Cards: We are switching back to individual LongRange cards for each shooter’s rounds for this Summer. This will be a 50 bird league, so please remember to have rounds loaded to your card ahead of time. Also, if you haven’t done so, please renew your memberships so that you’re getting the lowest cost on your birds!
League Fees: $30 Sponsor Fee, $4 per shooter per each week, total of $20 for a team of 5. We are making an offer to all teams this summer to pre-pay their entire league fee:
5 Shooters @ $4 per week for 14 weeks = $280
4 Shooters @ $4 per week for 14 weeks = $224
3 Shooters @ $4 per week for 14 weeks = $168
Prepay Discounts:
5-7 Person Team: ($30 sponsor fee + $280) = $310 less $20 = $290
4 Person Team: ($30 sponsor fee + $224) = $254 less $16 = $238
3 Person team: ($30 sponsor fee + $168) = $198 less $12 = $186
Pre-payment is encouraged for all teams given the anticipated volumes of shooting throughout the week.
Since Joe is only at the club on Thursdays, please work out a payment agreement with him. For those not shooting on Thursday, he is open to Venmo / electronic payment.
League Etiquette:
We wanted to re-communicate some aspects of etiquette that have generally been followed, but make everyone aware of:
–Please police your empties–If your squad shoots semi-autos or pumps, please pick up your hulls inside the 5-stand, as well as out front.
–It is recommended that team captains coordinate with other teams to confirm availability of people to support scoring and pulling
On League nights/Open Club hours:
-The first squad to shoot is responsible for opening the venue, and it is recommended that teams coordinate their times to have 1-2 people from the second scheduled squad to arrive early to mark/pull for the first squad.
-It should be expected that once a squad finishes their round that they mark/pull for the next squad to shoot
-The last squad to shoot is responsible for topping off the 5-stand traps, and closing/locking the venue.
