Wednesday Night Fall League

Plan: Wednesday Night League 3-man Trap and 3-man Ironman

The club will be offering three-man teams for both trap and 5-stand for the fall leagues.  Teams will be limited to 6 people for team.  The scoring will be a 3-point system by using the 3 highest scores compared the opposing team highest scores.  Scores will be compared in order of shooters average for the league.  Teams are encouraged to shoot with a full 5-man squad but the scoring will be done based on three scores.

Teams will be able to prepay the League fees at the beginning of the season.  This will be simpler for the teams and staff running the league.  The prepay league fees will be $90 per team plus a $40 sponsor fee. Shooting rounds will still be managed on a weekly basis or shooters can use their preloaded cards.

On Wednesday Night all fields will be utilized.   1 and 2 for the youth league. 3 and 4 for the trap league and 5 and 6 for ironman.   Adjustments may need to be made for field availability throughout the year.

The contractor will be finishing work on the fence on Friday 8/28. NO FIELDS WILL BE AVALABLE FOR OPEN SHOOTING ALL DAY FRIDAY.

Elmer came back to tell you that we need to close the club on Monday August 17th to install new fencing between all the fields. This is the wrap up of the New Skeet Buildings Project. Come out to see how much all this hard work has improved your shooting facility. Come out on August 23rd to Sunday Funday to see the end product of this multi-year effort. Thanks to Darren Jacobson, Don Kelly, Dave Holub and Al Winiecki for being the driving force, that created this project, got Pittman Robertson Money to reduce the club cost on this project and insured the successful execution of the work. Thanks to Jesse Nickle and Nickle Electric for the donation of work and service to complete the electrical work on these project. Many others are also appreciated in this effort but these people represent the core team that made this improvement possible.

Thanks goes to the huge club volunteers that came out on Sunday to remove the old fence for the installation of this new fence.

Also remember that we are open on Mondays for members to open shoot after the fence install. So when your favorite Sporting Clays place is closed on Monday, use the 5-stand, like sporting clays without the exercise, to get ready for duck hunting. The 5-Stand is setup like our other fields to allow you to open and close it yourself, to supply our members access 8:00 am to dusk 7 days a week. Contact Ridge Johansen for details 920-562-4179.

The Brown County Sportsmen’s Club is adding a senior 5-Stand League on Wednesday Morning. It is going to be a great fun and social event.

2026 5-Stand Wednesday League

A League Setup for Seniors to shoot on Wednesday Morning 9:00 to 1:00.  This would be all three person teams and we would shoot a round of 25. 

We plan to have a 5-Stand Leagues this year:

• Fall – (15 Weeks) Required to submit 10 scores.  The Cost is $ 110 per shooter.
  • 10 league scores will be required over this time.  League rounds must be indicated before shooting.
• The 5-Stand will be changed at least once during each league.
• League Shooters are not required to shoot a certain number of rounds on each course.   But half must be half S-RP-RP and half S-TP-TP
• Only members of BCSC Shooting Club are eligible to participate.
• First half will be on West Field and the Second half will be on the East Field.

Fees for each league

• $11 per league round for a total of $110 per league
  • 10 5-Stand rounds will be loaded onto your 5-Stand card
  • Bring your 5-Stand card to BCSC during open hours to get your targets loaded by Ridge
• $10 Lewis Class fee for each shooter (100% paid back using Lewis Class system)
• $30 Sponsor Fee for each team (100% paid back using Lewis Class system)

Must be a club member.

Shooters will be responsible for turning in their scores after shooting

• Each score sheet must have the shooter name, team name, Menu and week the score represents (weeks 1-10) clearly marked
• Use the Yellow Highlighter to indicate a League Round by highlighting the shooter name and total score

Drop league score sheets in the scoring box on the controller cart or at the club house if it is open

Summer Leagues will be starting soon. Please plan on getting your existing team team signed up or forming a new team if you are not currently shooting in a League. The League offers the opportunity to compete with you fellow shooters and socialize after shooting. The Leagues are setup based on the shooter’s ability that allow you to complete against people with similar ability/skills. If you need help setting up a team or finding a team the League Managers can help or contact Ridge Johansen at 920-562-4179.

Skeet League

We have a lot of fun shooting in the skeet leagues. Each league shoot requires 3 shooters. Teams usually have their 3 shooters and 1 or 2 substitute shooters.

Skeet League is scheduled for Every Thursday Evening

We will need volunteers to help in the Club Shoot.  Please consider taking some timeout to help the club. This is a huge event that helps the club. All fields will be used. Volunteers can shoot ahead on Friday.

• Pulling and Scoring
• Many other items

This event will be August 15th.  Your help would be appreciated.

Fence Clearing Day

This |Sunday August 16th, is the fence clearing day. The day will start at 9:00 and go until the work is complete.  Work will involve getting removing the old fences so the new fences can be installed.  The more help we can get the quicker the work will be completed, so please come even if you can only help for an hour.  All needed tools will be supplied for the event and a list of the needed work will be available to let you choose what fits your skills. Other work will be done if we have additional resources.

Get ready for Duck Season. Come out and shoot our 5-Stand Duck Flurry to get ready for early season.

The Club will be having another Sunday Funday Event.  This events theme will be a two man duck flurry. Come out and see how many you can hit.

We have 6 fields for Skeet and Trap and two Five Stands.  Come out and learn about the clubs ability to let you shoot anytime from 8:00 am to dusk 7 days a week. Bring out your youth shooters as they finish their youth trap leagues to learn skeet or 5-Stand. Bring out your older friends that haven’t been shooting for a while. Get yourself out if you haven’t tried our 5-Stand or Skeet. We will make sure you have a worthwhile day.

Ridge Johansen, Barb Ernst Muehlethaler, and Greg Hohn recently met and provided basic wing-shooting training to women from a local Green Bay Chapter of “Wisconsin Armed Women.”

Barb is also a member of WAW and was asked to consider putting together some training for interested women, who have never had training on the difference between shotgun & handgun shooting.

Thank you Greg & Ridge for being instrumental in this effort!

They met with WAW on August 3rd.

The training covered the different types of shotguns, safety, stance, gun mount, and basic wing-shooting techniques. The women were able to apply the learning while practicing on trap field.

They did very well and everyone had a safe, enjoyable evening!

Introduction to Shotgun Sports.

The Brown County Sportsmen’s Club can offer an introduction to to the shotgun sports to your group as well. We can tailor the training to your groups needs or interest.
